Nuffield Clinic is a specialist clinic focused on accessible, innovative healthcare.
Nuffield Orthopaedic Clinic was founded by Dr LK Appiah, a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, and has been specialising in musculoskeletal health for over 40 years, catering for a large proportion of patients in Accra and beyond.
As clinical knowledge and care advance, Nuffield Clinic has taken on the transformational needs necessary to ensure that it can continue to offer premier healthcare services to its patients and meet the demands of the growing community locally and further afield.
We have expanded our expertise in musculoskeletal care to include Rheumatology, Sports Injury, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
In addition, we offer Specialist services in Internal Medicine and General Practice to cater for adults and children, supported by laboratory and imaging services.
Meet Our Founder
Dr Lawrence Kwarteng Appiah
MB CHB, FRCS (Edin), FWACS
Dr Lawrence Kwarteng Appiah is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon whose vision and unwavering commitment to excellence gave birth to Nuffield Clinic, Ghana’s premier integrated musculoskeletal care center.
Dr Appiah began his medical journey at the University of Ghana, earning his M.B ChB in 1969. His pursuit of surgical mastery took him to the United Kingdom, where he obtained the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1977—a distinction that would later be elevated to Lifetime Fellowship, placing him among an elite circle of surgeons recognized for their enduring contributions to the profession.
